Me Made May - The Finish Line

Here are my pix from the last nine days of May.

Monday, May 23

Monday was such a lazy day, I can't even remember what I did. Whatever it was, I wore one of my Alabama Chanin sleeveless tees with my Burdastyle 08-2015-125b, Pleated Trousers. I can be sure I didn't ride my bike anywhere. These pants are super breezy and comfortable, but guaranteed to get stuck in my chain and throw me to my death beneath the wheels of a bus.

Tuesday, May 24
Tuesday I met my friend, Beth, for dinner at Lago di Como, by the sea. It turned into a beautiful, clear and sunny day and we had a great dinner. I wore my new BS 06-2011-104 top along with my old friends, the stretch denim BS 10-2013-107.

Wednesday, May 25
Wednesday I met my friend, Lisa, for dinner at Chocolate in downtown Santa Cruz. We had our usual salad-with-a-glass-of-wine, and I had a Tina for dessert. Yum. A Tine is a teeny, tiny cup of hot chocolate with just a dab of whipped cream. So small, it hardly counts, but the chocolate is so thick and delicious, you can eat it with a spoon. I wore a loose tee-dress, which is basically the Burdastyle ruched shoulder tee (BS 02-2013-126), lengthened to my knees.

Thursday, May 26
Thursday was another easy day. No meetings, no commitments. I wore my second pair of BS 05-2012-122, the Pajama Style Pants, with an Alabama Chanin tee. I've made about 6 of these tees and I love them. The style is so classic and well-fitting. High crew neck, slim fit, sleeves or not, as you choose. They remind me of the Basic Tees I used to get at The Gap, back in the day when I shopped for clothes.

Friday, May 27
Friday I rode my bike to the elementary school to do my tutoring in the morning, and then up the hill to campus in the afternoon for a hike with my friend, Anne. I needed something comfortable to move in, so I wore my BS stretch denim pants and a cowl neck tee that I made from directions in an old Threads magazine. Every time I wear this tee I remind myself I need to make another - I bet I could turn out something with a neater finish nowadays. For dinner, The Man took me to Cafe Limelight for pannini and hummus. Yum.

Saturday, May 28
Saturday was another easy, at home day. I can tell it must have gotten sunny because I'm wearing a sleeveless top; the BS 09-2011-128. This is another top I've made multiple times. It's a great pattern if you have a large scale print and you somehow only bought one yard. No darts, no muss, no fuss. The trousers are my denim BS 05-2012-122.

Sunday, May 29
Sunday I was a little under the weather. It was warm enough for a skirt, so I wore my Road Trip Skirt ( BS 05-2012-118), and my Scout tee. But, apparently, no shoes.

Monday, May 30, Memorial Day
Monday we met my friend, Martha, for a tasting at Venus Spirits on the West Side. If you find yourself in Santa Cruz, and you're not a teetotaler, this is a fun thing to do on a sunny weekend afternoon. We tried two gins, two agaves, a rye and a whiskey. My first time tasting everything but the whiskey. We got to keep the glasses, plus we got to eat two baskets of really delicious pretzels. I wore my Vogue 8382, one of the first things I made when I started sewing again about 5 years ago. The darts are wack, but I really like the fabric, so it survived my closet Kondo-ing. I'd like to try this pattern again, now that I have a bit more sewing experience under my belt.

Tuesday, May 31
Tuesday I wore my shirtwaist dress from Gertie's New Book for Better Sewing. I had planned to wear this dress on Memorial Day, but I found I was missing a button. Luckily, I had sewn a back-up button to the inside seam, just below the pocket, so I had a spare to pop back on. I stole this tip from RTW and it's been handy several times. I like this dress. There's shirring at the back waist, which gives it a nice shape, but it's very comfortable to wear.

In retrospect, it looks like I go out to dinner a lot. Really, I don't. May was just an unusually social month. Just as well, because it gave me an excuse to haul out some of the dresses I don't often wear. It was so much fun seeing what other sewists wear in their daily lives. Thanks, Zo, for creating this annual event!

Me Made May Week 3

Coming down the straight-away, here are the pix from my third week of Me Made May. Looks like we're in a new weather pattern that's more normal for the Central Coast in May. Mornings are foggy and afternoons are sunny. It's kind of hilarious watching the paper try to come up with new ways to say the same thing: Morning fog clearing to sun; partly cloudy with afternoon sun; clouds then sun, and so on. Temps are staying on the chill side though, so my skirts and dresses have still not had much of a workout.

Monday, May 16
On Monday I went for a morning run and then popped on my beetle dress, because the sun had come out.  This is the Zip Front Dress from Gertie Sews Vintage Casual. There's something I really like about this dress; the zip front makes it feel like overalls in dress form. I keep meaning to make another one, but I haven't managed to schedule it in yet.

Tuesday, May 17
On Tuesday I went for a bike ride along the ocean with some friends from out of town. They bring their black lab, Maddie, along in a trailer attached to the back of one of their bikes. We were the toast of West Cliff Avenue; she's cuter than a button. I wore my bike-worthy stretch denim BS 10-2013-#127, the narrow leg trousers, along with a Christine Johnson V-neck Tee.

Wednesday, May 18
Wednesday I rode my bike to do a couple of errands around town. I wore my Barb pants and my La Fred square-neck Europa blouse.

Thursday, May 19
Thursday I had a sewing day with my friend Jessica. She kindly took this photo for me with my cell phone and loaned me an adorable prop dog. I wore one of my stable of Kirsten Kimono Tees and an Alabama Chanin skirt. I like these skirts; they're fitted at the waist and hip and then flare out towards the knees. They're very comfortable to wear and also simple as can be to sew up; one of these days I'm going to actually embellish one.

My sewing day resulted in an almost Finished Object. A few more pieces of elastic to apply and I'll have something new to show! Whoot whoot!

Friday, May 20
Friday I rode my bike over to do some reading tutoring at the elementary school. It was windy as all get-out. I'm sure part of the time I was moving in reverse, despite pedaling as hard as I could. It sure was pretty though; scudding clouds and splashes of sun and clear as a bell. I wore my biking favorites, the stretch denim BS 10-2013-#127s and one of my Maria Denmark Edith blouses. This is another woven top that's pretty fitted but still easy to move around in.

Last Saturday's picture, but I wore exactly the same thing this Saturday
Saturday, no picture, but here's the photo from last week because I wore exactly the same thing. Zoe and I had Furry Friends again in the morning, so I wore my working shirt. I was going to change when I got home and pretend I dressed a lot smarter than I really did, but I met my friend Martha for lunch and by the time I got back to the house the moment for re-outfitting had passed. The pants are Me Made though; my old friends BS 10-2013-#127. The dog hair colored ones.

Sunday, May 22
Today (Sunday) I rode over to DeLaveaga Park to meet my friend, Therese, for a hike to the Top of the World. I wore an old pair of (yes, you guessed it) BS 10-2013-#127 and my plaid flannel Archer. There's actually a Kirsten Kimono Tee on under there too. It was cloudy and chilly when we started out, but things were breaking up nicely by the time we got to our destination. My landscape pictures are never as nice as the real thing, but here's a cell phone snap of the view from the Top of the World.

The view from the Top of the World
So, we're about two thirds of the way through May. I can sure tell which patterns are my work horses: Renfrews, Kirsten Kimono Tees and good old BS 10-2013-127. I promise I'll try to get more creative as we cruise through to June!

Me Made May Week 2

Here come my second week's worth of Me Made May photos. It was still cold and gray most of this week; I think there was only one day that was sunny from the get go. Sorry, but you'll be seeing a repeat of most of my pants. Sadly, the forecast looks like more of the same for the rest of the month. Curse you, El Nino! If you're going to hang around, at least bring some rain along with the gloom!

I'm a bit late posting because Blogger and I had some issues around uploading photos. Today we're friends again though.

Monday, May 9
Monday was my Jalie drop pocket cardi, along with a Kirsten Kimono Tee and a pair of Burdastyle 05-2012-#122, the Pajama Style Pants. I wear these items often. They're all neutral enough to go with a bunch of other garments. Have you tried the Kirsten Kimono Tee? It's a free pattern from Maria Denmark. It's a great, basic kimono sleeve tee. I have thousands, and I still make more.

Tuesday, May 10
On Tuesday I met my friend Molly to get my first drawing lesson. I read recently that, as one ages, it's good for the brain to learn to do something new and difficult. Considering I only ever drew one picture in my life, and that was 47 years ago, sketching sounds like it meets those criteria. I'm one sketch down and, so far, so good. Later that afternoon I rode my bike up to campus to meet my friend, Anne, for a walk in the redwoods. I wore my stretch denim BS 10-2103-#127, the narrow leg trousers. The stretch denim and narrow ankle make them a good bet for biking. I also wore one of my Christine Johnson V-neck Tees. I have a few of these and really like them for a chilly day. The neck comes up high in the back to give you that cozy, turtleneck feeling but the front can go as low a you want to sew it. It's an ingenious neckline construction. Too bad my knit is so lightweight it wrinkles when I move.

Wednesday, May 11
Wednesday I dropped my bike off for a tune-up and got a pedicure. I wore one of my Sewaholic Alma blouses and a pair of Style Arc Barb pants (another great free pattern). The Barb's are in ponte, which makes them both warm and bike-friendly. I like the Alma pattern too. It's just fitted enough to flatter but still easy to move around in.

Thursday, May 12 (looks like I'm levitating, not sure why)
Thursday I had lunch at a friend's house with a group of women I used to work with. We realized recently that we've known each other for at least 20 years. What a smart, kind, fun group they are! I'm lucky to know them. And especially lucky to have them make lunch for me - my friend, Kim, is an excellent cook. I wore my oldest pair of BS 10-2013-#127 pants and a cozy cowl-neck Renfrew. This is another great, basic tee. It comes with some nice neck and sleeve variations and the bands that finish the sleeves and bottom make it a good first knit pattern to try.

Friday, May 13
Friday I biked over to a local elementary school where I've been doing some reading tutoring. I work with 3 kids, two second-graders and a fifth grader. They are all totally adorable; a treat to spend time with. And, bonus, my fifth grader reached his reading goal on Friday! It was high fives all around. I wore my crazy pants (BS 05-2013) and another Kirsten Kimono Tee. Looks like I never reviewed these pants. I kind of like them! They have pockets and they're loose and breezy to wear. I ended up deep-sixing the drawstring and replacing it with elastic. It was a good reminder of why I don't like drawstring waistlines, even though they always sound like such a good idea. Too much fluff around the middle.

Saturday, May 14
Saturday I went with Zoe (my Great Pyrenees) to visit a local nursing home with our pet-assisted therapy group, Furry Friends (our motto is "We're Licking Loneliness"). I have a working shirt and Zoe has a working leash; we're supposed to wear them while making our visits. I ended up wearing my working shirt for the rest of the day while planting some succulent cuttings that my neighbor, Mary, very kindly gave me.  I did wear Me Made trousers, though! Another pair of BS 10-2013-#127. This color doesn't show the dog hair quite as much as some of my other pairs.

Sunday, May 15
Sunday was the day that got sunny first thing - woo hoo! I cracked out one of my Gertie Pencil Skirts and, yes, another Kirsten Kimono Tee. This skirt is another great first knit sewing project. One pattern piece. I'm not kidding. It has an elastic waist, which I think works up very nicely. Gertie has you sew the elastic around the skirt top on the outside, then flip to the inside and tack it down at the side seams. It comes out very smoothly, doesn't look like an elastic waist at all!

I'm getting together with my friend, Jessica, to do some sewing on Thursday. If all goes well, I'll have a new item to show soon!

Me Made May Week 1

One week down, three-and-a-half to go. I planned on giving my dresses and skirts an outing this month, but it's been chilly and gray these last few days. I guess it's the lingering effects of El Nino. Cold needn't preclude skirts, only I am not a tights or stockings lover. They make me feel as I imagine men feel when wearing a necktie; like I'm slowly strangling to death.

Sunday, May 1
Here's Sunday, May the first. The top and trousers are both from Burdastyle. The tee is BS 02-2013-#126 and the pants are BS 06-2012-#109, the 70's pants. Sunday was a lazy day, and pretty to boot. I did a little bit of preparatory yard work and went on a run.

Monday, May 2
Monday I did some real yard work, including turning the compost pile. And guess what? I had compost! My past attempts to produce compost have all been failures, but this time I got an actual bushel basket of compost! I was so excited, I divvied it up into little bits and top dressed every plant I could reach. I wore an ancient Renfrew and an old pair of Burdastyle Straight Pants (10-2013-#127).

Tuesday, May 3
This is another Renfrew and another pair of BS 10-2013-#127. This pair is made from the pattern I altered at our sewing weekend in Sonora. I love them. Must make another pair soon! The top is made from a mystery knit that I got as part of a bundle from the Tilton booth at Puyallup last year. The fabric is pretty light weight and wrinkles more than it seems a knit should. I should probably pass it along to the Goodwill. But I think I like the color, even though the green is so acid it kind of puts my teeth on edge.

Wednesday, May 4 (a.k.a. Star Wars Day)
I tried to get a little more creative here. The top is the Zigzag pullover from Wendy Bernard's Custom Knits 2, only without the zig-zags. I used some Madeline Tosh, and I think it was sock yarn. The pants are Simplicity 3688, a 1940s repro pattern. I like the way these pants fit and the high waist is great for tucking in tops. Wish they had pockets though. I might try to add some in my next version.

Thursday, May 5 (Cinco de Mayo)
Thursday it actually rained, something we always celebrate on the Central Coast. It was also chilly and gray most of the day, so I wore a cowl-neck Renfrew and my Bagua pants. I keep wanting to make another pair of these pants in a slightly heavier knit. They're nice and cozy, and I tell myself they look a bit sleeker than your standard sweatpants.

Friday, May 6
Another chilly, rainy day. I wore my original pair of BS 06-2012-#109 and an Ingenue sweater from Custom Knits by Wendy Bernard. This is a great, simple, top-down raglan pattern that knits up quick.

Saturday, May 7
Still overcast all day, so I went for my flannel Archer and a pair of Eleonore jeans. Nothing like a flannel shirt to keep you warm on a chilly day. The Man likes this shirt enough that he's mentioned he  could use a flannel of his own. I just need to find the right fabric. It's surprisingly hard to find flannel that doesn't have yellow duckies or rainbows all over it.

Sunday, May 8 (Mother's Day)
Back around to Sunday! It was damp and cloudy again this morning, so I went for my denim Burdastyle Straight Pants (10-2013-#127) and another Wendy Bernard sweater. This is the Backward Cabled Pullover from Custom Knits, only with the cable in the front.

It's been a very nice Mother's Day. I had a call and a package from The Boy. He sent me a cheese making kit and a basil garden in a can, so we'll be having pizza one of these days. I'll be seeing my nephews this afternoon, and The Man is taking me out to dinner, even though I am not his mother.

Here's hoping for a little warm weather next week!

Me Made May

Yep, I'm taking part in Me Made May in 2016. This will be my 3rd year. If you haven't ever tried it, then why not come on out and play!

Me Made May is the brain child of Zoe, of So, Zo, What Do You Know?  The idea is to encourage people to wear and love the things that they make. You can read more about Me Made May here.

Here's my pledge, from So Zo's blog:
'I, NancyD (sewinginsurfcity.blogspot.com), sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May '16. I shall endeavor to wear only me made clothes each day for the duration of May 2016. That includes getting off my butt and finally churning our some me made undies.'

I know I say that thing about the undies every year, but this time may be the winner.

After my recent Kondo-ing of my wardrobe, I know I have plenty of self-sewn clothes to see me through to the apocalypse. In my every-day life, though, I can get pretty lazy about how I use my Me Mades. Especially since I retired, it's all too easy to wear jeans and a tee shirt every day of the week.

Me Made May starts me thinking a bit more about my options. Why not wear a skirt and blouse, even if I'm not on my way to a meeting? Why not wear a dress just to go grocery shopping and then lounge around knitting for the afternoon? As long as my clothes fit me and are comfortable (my basic requirements), then I should go ahead and rotate through everything way more often than I do.

I usually throw up a post once a week that documents my efforts.

It can feel a little overwhelming to snap an outfit-a-day photo for a month. My rules are:
  • The Man kindly takes pictures for me every morning. We do it in the same darn place because that's where the light allows.
  • He takes three shots, so one of them has to be good enough.
  • I don't spend time trying to make myself look especially good. What you see is what you get.

If we stay within those parameters, it doesn't feel like big deal.

I always enjoy Me Made May. I like seeing how other people put together their self-crafted wardrobes. I also appreciate that little spur to be a bit more creative with my wardrobe.

Looks like there are more than 500 pledges on Zoe's blog, so the internets should be hummin' with inspiration. Game on!

Me Made May The End

Monday I met my friend, Martha, for a dog walk and sewing show-and-tell. She took up sewing again a couple of weeks ago and she's been going gangbusters! She loaned me a couple of patterns I need to take a look at. I wore my Burdastyle 70's pants and a Burdastyle gathered shoulder tee.

Tuesday was a work day. I wore my Kicking Up the 80's pants, an Alabama Chanin tee and a Summer Cardi from Knitting Pure and Simple.

Wednesday was another work day. I wore my Beetle Dress (the zip front dress from Gertie Sews Vintage Casual). This is a very easy dress to wear. I went for a hike at lunch and was totally comfortable.

Thursday was an at-home day. I wore my good old Burdastyle Straight Pants (I wear these all the time, it's a great pattern), a Kirsten Kimono tee and the Summer Cardi again. So far, this has been the kind of summer that requires a cardi.

Friday I wore my Burdastyle Pajama Style Pants and a sleeveless shell I knitted years ago. My photographer was worried you'd all be getting bored of seeing the front door, so he set me up taking a sighting through an antique compass.

Saturday I sewed most of the day - ahhh. Just what the doctor ordered. I almost forgot to take a snapshot, so I'm afraid it's a cell-phone selfie. I wore my Burdastyle 70's trousers and another Burdastyle gathered shoulder tee.

Sunday was another at-home day. I wore my khaki Burdastyle Narrow Leg Pants with a woven tee I made long ago. Plus - me made undies!

Whew! That's Me Made May done and dusted. Now that I've been sewing for a few years I usually wear a me-made wardrobe, but my day-to-day dressing is pretty repetitive. Like, even more repetitive than what you've seen here. Me Made May gets me thinking about things I haven't worn for a while. It also gets me to think about putting things together a bit differently. That knitted shell, for example. I'd forgotten about that top and it's actually kind of cute.

And - it makes me realize I need to go through my closet and drawers to get rid of things that are getting tired to make way for the fruits of my stashbusting!

Experiments in Undergarments

I’ve been wanting to try making my own undies for a while now, but somehow I hadn’t gotten around to it. Then, just when I needed a kick in the pants (ha ha), along came the Stashbusting Sewalong’s Lingerie theme.

My old standby undies are the High Leg Brief by Victoria’s Secret. Back in the day, that style used to come up to my waist – or pretty close, anyway. Now that a lower rise is so popular in the RTW world, Victoria’s waistband has been migrating downwards. I find that a line of elastic across my high hip cuts right into my chub. VPL for sure.

Now that I have a few me-made knit skirts and trousers that I like to wear, I’m all about the smooth silhouette.

In fact, my goal is to avoid elastic altogether. On top of disliking the chub-compression properties of elastic, my frugality gene came into play. I like the idea of making undies out of scraps and nothing but scraps. How sweet would it be if I could come up with a plan that didn’t involve purchasing any special elastics or findings?

One of my favorite sewing ladies (who, sadly, hasn’t been posting recently) is Loran of Loran’s World. She wrote a great post about sewing lingerie and active wear using self-fabric bands rather than elastic. She used to sew dance wear this way, and I figure if it works for a dancer, it’s going to stay put just fine for me.

Burdastyle 01/2012, #127
I hauled out the high-waisted panty pattern from the January, 2012 issue of Burdastyle. I remember thinking the pattern was pretty cute when I first got this issue, but I was put off by the zipper called for in the instructions. Zippers in undies just seems like too much . . . something. But if I made the undies out of a stretchy knit I could probably omit that puppy, just like I’d omit the zipper from a knit dress.

And bingo!

I test-drove the undies yesterday and they felt pretty good. Meaning that I didn’t notice them at all. The knit bands that substituted for elastic did their job, though I think the cut of these undies helps minimize any creep factor.

Plus I think they look pretty cute. I’m too dignified to post a photo. Imagine me modeling these undies, but looking more like Betty Grable than I actually do.

For this trial pair I used some scraps of cotton jersey left over from making tee shirts for The Man. Fabric constraints inspired me to make my first attempt at color blocking. I kind of like it! Maybe I can flex my color-blocking muscles with underwear and then move on to outerwear.

I initially cut the size 36, as suggested by my measurements. The pattern is designed for a stretch woven, so I thought I wouldn’t downsize immediately. I ended up retracing the pattern in the smallest size. I think I’ll try to size it down a bit more next time, just because I’m used to the feeling of a snugger fit for underwear.

I like this style enough that I to make up several more pairs. I may just go a bit wild with the fabric combos. I have some black lace that would be fun for those side panels.

Me Made May Week Four

Monday I walked downtown with the dog and did a few errands, so it was a pair of Burdastyle straight pants and a Kirsten Kimono Tee.

Tuesday was a work day, and chilly to boot, so I wore a pair of 40's Retro Trousers (Simplicity 3688) and my spotty Santa Monica Tee. I just bought some fabric to make another pair of these trousers. The two I have are getting pretty beat up, and I really like this pattern!

Wednesday was another work day.  Word on the street was that it was going to get sunny in the afternoon, so I wore an Alabama Chanin skirt and a top I knitted years ago, using Madeline Tosh yarn and a pattern from Custom Knits by Wendy Bernard.

Thursday my Great Pyrenees, Zoe, and I did a Stress Relief visit with Furry Friends, our pet assisted therapy group. We went out to Scotts Valley High with about 6 other dogs to meet the students at their lunch hour. The kids were adorable, and they threw themselves on the dogs like they were starved for love. It was a cold, drizzly day, so I spent the afternoon drying out in front of the fire in my old friends, my Burdastyle straight pants, and my Furry Friends uniform shirt.

Friday I went to a gourd decorating class with my friend, Jessica. What a great way to spend the day! Our teacher, Carmen, was wonderful. There were three other students and we chatted away about all sorts of things while dying, carving and decorating our gourds. I wish I had pictures of the other gourds - it was so fun to see how different they all turned out! It was still grey and chilly most of the day, so I wore a Renfrew cowl neck tee with my Barb pants.

Me and my gourd
Saturday Zoe and I visited a nursing home with Furry Friends and then went for a dog walk with her pals, Hitchcock and Griffith (and my friends Therese and Maurice). We hiked up into a park behind our house and lucked into some of the prettiest weather we've had all week. I wore my Burdastyle straight pants again, along with yet another Renfrew. This particular pair of pants is one of my favorites, partly because they're comfortable and partly because the fabric seems to repel dog hair more successfully than most of my other clothes. When you have a Great Pyrenees, a lot of your wardrobe decisions are driven by dog hair.

Sunday we had a lazy morning, then cleaned house and went to they gym in the afternoon. I wore my Bagua pants and yet another Renfrew. Have I gotten my money's worth out of this pattern, or what? And I plan to make more. I love the neckline variations and those 3/4 length sleeves are so darn practical.

Me Made May, Week Three

On Monday I mucked around in the yard wearing an ancient woven tee and my Burdastyle 10/2013-127a (Straight Pants). I think it's almost end time for this tee. The fabric is fraying around the neckline and hems. I'll be sad to see it go. It's made from the leftovers from a set of place mats I made for The Man probably more than 10 years ago.

Tuesday was a work day. I wore an Alabama Chanin tee along with a pleated skirt made from a Kaffe Fasset fabric I got at Jimmy Bean's in Reno. I made up the pleating myself in an attempt to use all of the fabric I could. Sadly, my math skills failed me. I have a couple of odd tucks on either side where I had to get rid of some excess to squeeze on the waistband. Luckily, you can't really tell, given how busy the print is.

Wednesday was another work day. I was planning on a lunchtime walk with some friends so I had to dress outdoor-friendly. I went for my brown ponte Barb pants and a cotton sweater I knitted years ago.

Thursday we went to bagua in the morning and then I grocery shopped and knitted in the afternoon. I wore a Burdastyle gathered sleeve tee with my denim Burdastyle Pajama Style Pants.

On Friday I cleaned house, so I went for comfort and easy mobility. I wore my bagua pants and an old Kirsten Kimono Tee.

On Saturday we went up to San Francisco for the Bay to Breakers. It was chilly and grey most of the day - the weather we call "June Gloom" on the Central Coast. I wore my Burdastyle Straight Pants again, along with a Christine Johnson V-neck Tee. I topped it off with my Minoru and felt cozy. We did some quality carbo loading and I found the time to squeeze in a visit to Britex. I found a piece of scuba knit to make another Gertie pencil skirt.

On Sunday I ran the race at 8:00 and spent the rest of the day collapsed on the couch, wearing yet another pair of Burdastyle Straight Pants and my Bay to Breakers tee.

What I learned this week: on a day to day basis I tend to wear the same things over and over. That's even during Me Made May, when I make an effort to attain a higher standard.

I also see that I haven't yet produced anything in the categories of clothing that I wanted to focus on for Me Made May; undies and active wear. Time to get on the stick!
